Cork Evening Echo Women’s Mini Marathon 2012

The Evening Echo Women’s Mini-Marathon 2012 will take place in Cork on the 16th of September.  It is a fun event that helps to raise money for many charities.  You can walk, jog or run the 4 miles.  Although it is a women’s mini-marathon, men are also welcome to take part as long as they are dressed as women.

If you would like to take part in aid of Community Cats Network, please register here and send an email to with your details and we’ll send you your sponsorship card.

If you cannot take part, why not sponsor one of the participants running for Community Cats?

“Anyone who knows me a little also knows that sports are not my forte, so for me to take part in this event it must be a cause I strongly believe in…

Since we founded Community Cats Network, four months ago, we have neutered over 150 cats.  For every female spayed, an average of 12 kittens a year won’t be born, which means that these kittens won’t be suffering either, which is too often the case.  By doing TNR, Community Cats is aiming at preventing the problem of cat over-population, it is dealing with the problem at its root.  By sponsoring me, you can be part of the solution and indirectly help many cats and kittens who are suffering.”

“I’m running in the Marathon for Community Cats Network because I want to both support and raise awareness about the fantastic work they do.

Cats deserve happy, healthy lives, and we need to do all we can to help them! I’d like people to sponsor me because I’m a huge cat lover; I care for 10 ferals, as well as two house cats (both of which we found separately as kittens on the side of the road). These cats have given me so much, and I want to give back by raising as much money as possible to help other cats and kittens in need :)”
